Feeling a little jaded today, not at all like Healthy Jim, out last night playing snooker with a few friends, and the reds on the table were a bit outnumbered by the reds in our glasses.
Got me thinking about some of the natural herbal remedies we are going to be losing to another European ruling handed down after pressure from the big Pharma companies no doubt.
Some of the products we have all grown up with, such as, Echinacea, Milk Thistle and St Johns Wort, have been designated as needing licences to be manufactured by the European Parliament.
I always recommended Milk Thistle to my drinking buddies, and was usually pleasantly surprised when they heeded my advice, and even told me it worked for them. What are friends for?
Anyway, now this same product will be made by a large manufacturer who will have paid about £100,000 for a licence to do so, and will want to recover their costs, so another needless increase on our shrinking pockets.
I sometimes wonder about the whole European thing, weren’t we better off before we handed over control of our lives to a bunch of faceless politicians who seem to operate in a world that has no connection to our reality? Seems to be a conspiracy of the inept.
Enough of this, as you can tell I am in need of a spiritual uplift today, so am going to go for a long walk.
